Age 88, Lawton - Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Highland Cemetery with Rev. Domingo Herrera and Rev. Marie Herrera, officiating. Mrs. Lucio died November 22 in Lawton. Arrangements are under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home. She was born May 14, 1921 in Carthage, Missouri, to Valentine Cortez, Sr., and Jennie Mitchell Cortez. She grew up in Carthage and attended school there. She moved to Lawton in 1948. She married Thomas Lucio in 1951 in Lawton. He preceded her in death in November of 1984. She is survived by a son and daughter in law, Rev. Arturo L. and Judy Sanchez, Ackerman, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Christina Smith and husband Charles, Ackerman, Mississippi, Sonia Sumner, Mobile, Alabama, and Arturo L. Sanchez, III, Ackerman, Mississippi; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Cortez, Lawton, and Jennie Sagaribay, Denton, Texas; three brothers, Marcus Cortez, Lawton, Valentine Cortez, Jr. and Ramon Cortez, both of Fort Worth, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.
