Margaret Mae, "Peggy" (Warner) Landmark, age 86 of Lawton, Oklahoma, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Thursday, December 7, 2023. She was born July 8, 1937 in Montrose, South Dakota to Walter Calvin Warner and Florence Catherine Warner (McDonnell). Peggy graduated from Montrose High School in 1956 and was awarded a music scholarship but chose instead to move to Colorado Springs, Colorado where her family had relocated earlier in her senior year. Throughout her life, family was always Peggy's top priority. On January 5, 1957, in Raton, New Mexico, Peggy married a young Army soldier, Milton Landmark, who was the love of her life. Milt and Peggy would spend 56 incredible years together, building a life and legacy that continues on in their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and the countless lives they touched within their family and community. The Army took Milt and Peggy to Germany and Milt to two tours in Korea and one tour in Vietnam. Peggy never wavered in her duty on the home front, raising four kids often on her own during year-long deployments and offering strength and support to other military spouses and families. Eventually, the family settled in Lawton in 1968, retiring from the Army in 1974. Peggy loved Lawton and lived the remainder of her years there. She was a much loved and recognized member of the community, due in no small part to the 36 years she worked in the front dental office of Dr. George Bridges. Peggy was also known for her incredible singing voice as a soloist in the First Methodist Choir and a member of Sweet Adelines, singing competitively as part of a quartet. She also loved singing with her sisters.
Peggy is survived by three of her children and their spouses; James (Jim) and Yvonne Landmark of Lawton, Brian and Penny Landmark of Lawton, and Kathryn (Kathy) and Brian Campbell of Greenwood, Indiana; her daughter-in-law Lisa Craig (Travis); 14 grandchildren, Sage Ranallo (Stacia), Tate Landmark (Zach), Jace Landmark (Ruby), Katelyn Craig, Braydon Craig, Christina Alvarez (Roly), Cory Landmark (Lauren), Cole Pauley (Rachel), Erin Pauley, Nathan Landmark, Jordan Zemlin (Chris), Heather Deem, Karri Campbell, Jennifer Campbell; 15 great grandchildren; her siblings, sisters Carol McLain of Lexington Nebraska, Deanna Harris of Sunrise, Florida, Gayla Augustine of Lafayette, Louisiana, brother Charles Warner (Nancy) of Wenatchee, Washington; cousin-in-law, who was a brother to her, LaVerne Landmark (Marlys), Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Milt, first born son Michael Landmark of Lawton, and grandson Daniel Foster.
