Luwanna "Sue" Campbell, 85, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 in Lawton, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family and her cherished pups. Born on December 13, 1939, in Mercers Bottom, West Virginia. Sue lived a life defined by love, faith, and adventure.

Her journey took her from her home in West Virginia to Bucyrus, Ohio. This was so lucky, because at Bucyrus High School Sue met the love of her life, Ernest Campbell. They married on March 30, 1958, and shared 66 beautiful years of love and devotion.

A proud Army wife, Sue embraced traveling the world, instilling in her children a passion for exploration. In 1961, with three young children in tow, she journeyed to Germany to join Ernie in his military service. In 1964, the family returned to the United States as a family of 6 aboard the USNS Buckner and upon arrival were stationed at Redstone Arsenal in Alabama. In 1966, they arrived at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where they remained until Ernie's retirement in 1978. They lived in MacArthur Park until Ernie built them their dream home east of Lawton.

A natural entrepreneur, Sue founded Trade Winds Travel, The School of Technical Training, and Campbell's Antiques. She was a dedicated businesswoman, and she treated her employees like family. Those who worked for her often said it was the best job they ever had. She was a fixture at Fair Trade Days in Canton, Texas, and always had one of the most successful booths in OKC's An Affair of the Heart.

Sue was the embodiment of Christianity, living her faith through kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for those around her. She touched countless lives with her warmth, wisdom, and generous heart. Her home was always open to anyone who needed it whether it be for a hot meal, a job, a conversation or just a hug. Her genuine, kind spirit made you feel like family from the moment you met her. Her family and friends will always remember her for the joy she brought into their lives.

She is survived by those who loved her most—her family, her cherished friends, and the many lives she impacted along the way. Her loving husband Ernest Eugene Campbell of Lawton, OK.
