Obituary

Louise Russo went to be with the Lord on March 18, 2026, from her home in Indiahoma, surrounded by her loved ones. Louise was born October 5, 1941, in Indiahoma to Harry and Jessie (Shuck) McClung. While attending Indiahoma High School, she honed her athleticism and competitive edge playing basketball.

She later moved to Massachusetts where she found herself working as a cashier at Mal's. While there, a young toy truck driver named Ed Russo approached her. The two began their 58-year marriage on February 17, 1968, in Wichita Falls.

Louise was passionate, hardworking, and faithful. She was a huge Sooner and Dallas Cowboys fan, cheering on her favorite football teams every chance she could. A fierce protector of the television remote, she earned the nickname Controller Queen.

Her strong work ethic was evident in everything she did, living out the Lord's command: "Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." Kmart in Lawton benefited from her dedication as she helped open the store, and her love for landscaping reflected that same diligence. With a true green thumb, she found joy outdoors-tending her lawn, nurturing her garden, and taking pride in every detail of her property.

Louise's faith in the Lord was steadfast. For more than 30 years, she was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Indiahoma, where she lived out her beliefs with quiet strength and devotion.

Her truest passion was her family. She loved them fiercely and worked diligently to create a home for them. She was truly a Domestic Engineer as she turned a house into a home with her keen eye, faithful love, and impeccable work ethic. She understood that evangelism and discipleship begin in the home, faithfully passing down the Great Deposit to four generations.

Louise is survived by her husband, Ed Russo, of the home; her children, Ja'nice and husband Bob Langdon of Yukon, Karen and husband Donny Cox of Corum, Michael and wife Ronda Russo of Mountain Park, and Missy Russo and significant other Manny Vega of Lawton; her brother, Jim McClung; grandchildren, Terra, Tiffany, Tracy, Daniel, Joseph, Dylan, Tony, Chrystal, Casey, Alex, and Melissa; and a multitude of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and several bonus daughters she adopted into her family as her own.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Nita Wagner, Anita Green, and Beulah Montroy; and her brother, Bud McClung.
