Friends are invited to greet the family of Louise V. Buford from 4-6 pm on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Interment will be held at a later date in Fort Sill National Cemetery.

Louise V. Buford, age 87, Lawton, died Monday, July 16, 2018 in Oklahoma City.  She was born January 19, 1931 in Rosston, Arkansas to Christopher Weaver and Gertie Lee Butler.  She grew up and graduated high school in Bodcaw, Arkansas.  She married James Euel Buford on June 29, 1948 in Prescott, Arkansas.  He preceded her in death on June 22, 2013.

Mrs. Buford retired from Civil Service.  She was a member of Olivet Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Burrell Smittle, Gainesville, Florida; nieces, Brenda Hagan, Edmond, Oklahoma, Sharon Skiles, Gainesville, Florida, Sandy Lockey, Tyler, Texas and Debbie Grady, Batesville, Arkansas; nephews, Tommy Butler, Bullard, Texas, Dwight Butler, College Station, Texas and Steve Smith, Gainesville, Florida; many great nieces and nephews.

Her husband, two brothers, Willis Dale and Dallas Butler, and her sister, Christine Martin, preceded her in death.

The family would like to express their most heartfelt thanks to the staff and friends at Legend at Jefferson's Garden in Edmond, Oklahoma for their loving and compassionate care.  We would also thank the staff at Epworth Villa Household 2 Rehab Center for their wonderful care.
