Lou Ella Blundell Bone was born on April 27, 1936 in Bennington, Oklahoma. She went to Heaven on January 25, 2025. She is preceded in death by her parents Reuben and Nina Blundell, her sister Gladys Loveall, her daughter Lorie Ann Bone and her son in law Jim Nisbett. She has two surviving sisters and one brother. Mary Jo and her husband Don Cheek of Altus, Oklahoma, Judy Gail and John Dunegan and Larry Gene Blundell both of Calera, Oklahoma.
Billy stated he prayed for a lady with jet black hair, a beautiful complexion, and a striking figure. His prayers were answered and on August 2, 1952 Lou met the love of her life, knight in shining armor, and soulmate Billy Bone. They were married for 71 glorious years. Each day together was a gift from GOD. Holding hands, soft kisses, many hugs, and countless "I love you's" was the fairy tale marriage of Billy and Lou. Their unconditional fairy tale love was a deep, boundless affection that knew no limits or conditions. It was the kind of love where two souls connect in a way that transcends logic, appearances, or circumstances. If you look up the definition of love, Billy and Lou's name should be printed right next to it. Their love was cherished and what every boy and girl dreams of. Bill and Lou have two daughters, Robin and Bill Tenis of Lawton, Oklahoma, Kim Nisbett of Lawton, Oklahoma, son Michael Tenis and wife Vicki of Lawton, Oklahoma, and special friend Homer Ryan of Frederick, Oklahoma.
Lou was BLESSED with two wonderful granddaughters. Courtney and Michael Ferguson and Amanda and Earl Mack, both from Lawton, Oklahoma. Lou also had four amazing great grandchildren who were the sparkle in her eye. Kelsey (Ferguson) Miller and her husband Ridge, Kinsley (Ferguson) King, and her husband Ely, Jalen Mack, Alyssa Mack and many nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
Lou lived a life filled with love and compassion. She was the heart and soul of her family, always putting others before herself and teaching everyone the true meaning of unconditional love. She had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel special, whether through her kind words, her radiant smile, her tight squeezes, or her legendary cooking skills (specifically her fried potatoes, Billy's favorite). Above all Lou put JESUS first in the center of her life. She was an extraordinary prayer warrior and servant of the LORD. For over thirty years Lou was a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed teaching children about JESUS always using her felt board characters and inspiring bible stories. In Lou's eyes all children are a true gift from GOD and brought her so much joy. She was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church for twenty-two years and then a member of Lawton First Assembly for the remainder of her life. Lou never took one single breath for granted. She demonstrated perseverance, and a strong will to live out the last year of her life. She was determined to witness many celebrations in the year of 2024 to include graduations, weddings, and holidays. She enjoyed the special things in life such as talking on the phone, basking in the sunshine, a good cup of coffee, and a warm apple fritter.
Above all, Lou cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, Gram, and Mammie, always celebrating life's moments with the people she held most dear. Her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Though she is no longer with us, Lou's light will continue to shine. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
