Lorenza "Charlie" Hagler, 88, Snyder passed away Monday, November 12, 2018 in Snyder.  He was born April 23, 1930 in Upshur County, Texas to Rue Calvin and Jodie Hagler.  Affectionately known as "Charlie", Lorenza was well known throughout Lawton as a man you could depend on.  Growing up in rural North Texas, Lorenza had many older brothers and sisters.  He moved to Lawton in the early 1970's and began working as a cab driver.  He drove many a traveler from the Lawton Airport to their homes.  Seeing someone struggling with their luggage would cause him to offer to help whether they wanted to hire him or not.  The airport staff and management knew him well and appreciated his care for travelers.  For a time he transported cargo for freight delivery companies and worked as a security night watchman.  He always worked and was proud that he paid his own way.  Life was not easy, but Lorenza always kept his head up and pushed forward.  In his last few years he was a resident of Ayers Nursing Home in Snyder, and just as when he lived in Lawton, he volunteered at the nursing home to help with the needs of the other residents and staff.  Anyone who got to know Lorenza knew that this child of God was blessed to be a blessing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Christine, Neil, Lucille, Arline, Melvin, Lila and Laura Jane.
