Funeral service for Leon Roberts will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2020 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder Chapel with Mike Hinton, Slaughterville, Oklahoma officiating.

Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder, Oklahoma.

The family will greet friends Tuesday evening, January 14, 2020 from 5pm until 7pm at the funeral home.

Leon Roberts, 90, Snyder, Oklahoma passed away Monday, January 13, 2020 in Hobart, Oklahoma.  He was born January 21, 1929 on the family farm Northeast of Snyder, Oklahoma to Sam Ben and Edna (Rice) Roberts.  He graduated from Snyder High School in 1947.  He played basketball and football during his high school years.  He played one year of football at Cameron.  He worked at a car factory in Dallas, Texas and drove a cattle truck out of Oklahoma City.  He was going on wheat harvest at the age of 12 with his brother Floyd.  He served in the US Army from 1950 until 1952.  Leon met Shirley Willis in March of 1954 and they were married November 24, 1954 in Lawton.  He farmed, ranched and custom harvested for many years.  He also built stock trailers for many years.  Leon adored his boys, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He served on the Snyder Board of Education for many years and was a member of the Snyder Church of Christ.

Leon is survived by his wife of 65 years Shirley, 3 boys; Roger and Jeanne, Steve and Tammy, Mike and Alisha, 6 grandchildren; Adam, Caitlyn and Justin Hood, Heath and Morgan, Travis and Kristen, Hillary and Brad Lanig and Tyler and Lakin.  He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren; Hoyt and Sloane, Karlee and Kennedy and Alliee, Mylee and Creed Lanig.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers.
