Lena Joyce Zacharias, lovingly known as "Mema", passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2026; at the age of 82. She was born in Walters, Oklahoma to Minnie Mildred Moon and James Alvie Moon. She attended the Church of Christ where she was baptized. Joyce married Donald Zacharias on July 8, 1961. Her greatest joy in life was her family and her dogs. She loved flowers, going thrifting, baking for holidays and birthdays and attending events for her children and grandchildren. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort and open arms. She poured endless love into her husband, children and grandchildren and created memories they will cherish forever. To the family dogs, she was a gentle, kind soul who made them feel safe and loved. Her beautiful smile will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Although our hearts are heavy, we find peace in knowing she was surrounded by love in her final moments. Her legacy will live on in the family and pets she cherished. She will be deeply missed and always remembered by her kindness, laughter and smile.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Don Zacharias; three children, Stacy Zacharias-Heim (Jay), Shelly Zacharias, and Justin Zacharias (Korki); brother, Chubby Moon; and five grandchildren, Zachary Means (Saba), Greyson Longoria, Noah Longoria, Kinsley Zacharias and Kylee Zacharias.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred Moon, James A. Moon; stepfather, Roland Dunegan; sister, Deloris moon and brother James Alvie Moon
