Age 86, Elgin - Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Robert Burch, retired Baptist minister, Temple, officiating. Mrs. Herrington died Monday at a local hospital. Burial will be at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill. She was born September 27, 1923 in College Station, Texas to Fred and Katie (Vincent) Boydston. She grew up in Oklahoma around Durant and moved to Lawton in 1955. Mrs. Herrington worked in sales for a time and remodeled homes for resale. She married CW4 (Ret) Elmo "Bill" Herrington in Lawton on October 24, 1960. She was a member of the Officer's Wives Club and the 4H Club. While stationed with her husband in Germany, she was a member of the VFW and the Christian Officer's Wives Club. Mr. Herrington died on October 21, 1997. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Kay Barton of Amarillo, Texas; a son James Gordon Green of Goodrich, Texas; three sisters, Edith Just of Lawton, Lois Mahanay of Dalhart, Texas and Joy McDonald of Elgin; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Olivia Carol Green and a sister, Viola Walker.
