Funeral service for Lavon Booker will be at 1:00 pm Friday, August 31, 2018 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder Chapel.

Burial with military honors will be in the Rogers Cemetery, Southwest of Snyder, Oklahoma.

The family will greet friends Thursday evening from 5pm until 7pm at the funeral home.

Lavon Booker, 91, former Headrick, Oklahoma resident, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018 in Anaheim, Orange County, California.  He was born October 26, 1926 in Jackson County, Oklahoma to William Roscoe and Lillian (Richardson) Booker.  He served in the Merchant Marines during WW II and after the war he graduated from the Chef School of New York.  Most of his life he worked as a Chief Steward and a Longshoreman.

His survivors include his five children; Vonda Shirleen Giar, Patricia Diane Booker, Judy Carol Booker, Brenda Faye Amundson, Jeffrey Von Booker, grandchildren; Stacy Polowski, Michelle Lambert, Mickey Kennedy, Corey Walters, Renee Brooks, Christopher Viers, Matthew Viers, Brittany Munro and Kaylee Munro, 14 great grandchildren and his siblings, Don Booker, Marlon Booker, Earl Booker, Boodgie Booker and Jimmy Booker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Peggy Booker in 1982 and siblings Norma Booker and D.L. Booker.
