Laverne P. Aumann, age 86, passed away peacefully at home on January 5, 2022 with her family at her side.  She lived a good full life.  She was born February 23, 1935, the seventh child of eleven siblings to John and Vera Cartwright in Wapanucka, Oklahoma.  The family moved to Lawton, Oklahoma when she was younger.  She graduated from the old Lawton High School in 1954.  On October 24, 1954 she married a young soldier named, Rome V. Aumann who was from Chicago and stationed at Fort Sill.  To this union they had Stephanie, Steve, Randy and David.  They traveled extensively as a military family in Europe and several posts in the United States.  Her husband passed away in 1971 so she and her children moved to east Lawton to be near her family.  She worked at Gibson's on Lee Boulevard in the housewares department.  She was a Master Duplicate Bridge player and enjoyed bowling.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie McKinley, two sons and their spouses, Steve and Janelle Aumann and Randy and Beverly Aumann.  She has several grandchildren, great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Her husband, Rome, her son, David and son-in-law, Brian McKinley preceded her in death.

Private graveside services will be held.
