Funeral service for Lamart Pernel Elkins will be 1:30 P.M. Monday, August 29, 2016 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel

Burial with military honors will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Fort Sill National Cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the funeral home.

Lamart Pernel Elkins, age 43, of Lawton, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in Lawton.  He was born January 3, 1973 in Bronx, New York to Pernel and Joann (Elkins) Almond.  He grew up in Lawton and graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1992.  He played football at Eisenhower and was a member of the 1991 championship team.  He received an associates degree from Barton County Community College at Fort Riley, Kansas.  He served in the U.S. Army for fourteen years.  He separated from the Army as a Staff Sergeant.

Survivors include his wife, Alphia R. Hart, daughter, Sierra Elkins, both of the home, son, Third Class Petty Officer Travaris Elkins, Virginia, brother, Walter Elkins, St. Louis, Missouri, sister, Francis Richards, Lawton, grandson, Ezekiel Elkins and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
