Detective Schulte died Sunday east of Lawton. Burial will be in Sterling Cemetery under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Lawton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. He was born November 15, 1973 in Lawton to Robert C. and Phyllis A. (Butler) Schulte. Kevin attended Sullivan Village Elementary School, MacArthur Jr. & Sr. High Schools. Kevin showed lambs for MacArthur and his team won a national livestock judging competition. He received Star Farmer Award in FFA his senior year at MacArthur. He went to Conner's State Jr. College on a livestock judging scholarship where he received an associate's degree. He received a bachelor's degree at Oklahoma State University where he majored in Ag Education and where he placed in several livestock judging competitions across the United States. While attending Conners, Kevin worked at the stock yards and while at OSU he worked at a furniture store and shot pool for extra money. He worked as a supervisor at Simmon's Poultry Plant prior to moving to Lawton in 2002. He joined the Lawton Police Department and has worked there the last 9 ½ years. He was a K9 handler for a number of years with his dog "Speedy" working narcotics and patrol. While working with the police department, Kevin achieved his ultimate goal when he joined Special Ops this past year. Kevin met his wife, Brittany Daniels, in 2000 and was married in 2001. He loved his two girls, Aleia, 16, and Tatum, 8, more than life itself. Kevin's pleasures in life were his softball teams, coon hunting, and deer hunting. Kevin had a big heart, enjoyed his family and friends, and was loved by many. He will be missed by all, family and friends alike. He would do anything to make you smile or lend you a shoulder to cry on. We will forever love and miss our son, grandson, husband, father, brother, cousin, and friend.
