Kenneth Ray Glaze, Sr., 78, of Elgin, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday November 30, 2021, in Lawton.
Kenneth was born June 17, 1943, in Weatherford, Texas to Melvin Middleton and Tommie Alene (Russom) Glaze. Kenneth married the love of his life, Marilyn Sue Martin on September 16, 1966, in Farwell, Texas.
Kenneth found religion and accepted Jesus as his savior very early in life. His love for the Lord was always on display. In high school, you could find him working at the gas station or playing baseball, his favorite, and many other sports. His interests and talents were vast and varied. He loved all things outdoors; hunting, fishing, baseball, golfing, bird watching and in his younger years, playing sports and then watching sports. Every day, he could be found reading his bible, watching sports, especially baseball and wrestling or watching game shows. He loved the Lord, his family, friends and anyone he met along the way. He was just the kind of person who drew people in. He never lost his childlike spirit and love for life. Anyone who knew Kenneth knew that he was the most loving father a family could ask for and the friend you could always count on and even the friend you never knew you had.
Kenneth was a man of varied talents and skills. When he and Marilyn married, he was a roofer. Throughout his life, he worked in various trades including servicing vehicles, sales, and delivery for the oil fields, what he liked to call his oil field ministries, and a Baptist preacher. For over 20 years, he worked beside his brother in creating beautiful tributes to lives lived through monuments. He and Marilyn then opened their own monument company to continue to celebrate the lives lived. Finally in 2015, they both retired from the monument business. Although Kenneth lived many places through his life, his home was always where his family resided.
Instead of saying goodbye, Kenneth would say "See you around like a rolling donut!"
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of the home; three children, Kenneth Ray Glaze II and wife Michelle of Amarillo, Texas, Rebecca Conner and husband Gregory of San Angelo, Texas, and Melissa Pacheco and husband George of Elgin, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, Seth R. Harrell, Joshua G. Harrell and wife Nikki, Amber N. Harrell and fiancé Casey Davis, Hannah A. Pacheco, Laney C. Hancock, Blakeny A. Christopherson, Colton Conner and wife Kate, Kelsey Pavlas and husband Ryan, Alexa Conner and Micayla Conner; 11 great grandchildren, Tate Davis, Axell Harrell, Macie Hancock, Sophie Hancock, Kennedy Conner, Kyle Conner, Audrey Pavlas, Madelynn Pavlas, and Caroline Pavlas and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Joe Glaze, and one sister, Darlene Box.
