Her parents, Wirt Wycliff Holsinger and Juanita J Preston Holsinger and her sister, Jayne Holsinger Schumpert, preceded Kathy in death. Kathy was born on July 7, 1950 in Lawton, OK to Wirt and Juanita Holsinger. She graduated from Lawton High School in 1968 as Lore Queen. She attended Oklahoma State University as a Tri Delt. She married Tony Reese on January 17, 1970 at Centenary United Methodist Church. Her children and family consider their 41-year marriage a valuable inheritance. Kathy and Tony briefly lived in Manhattan Kansas where she graduated from Kansas State University in 1972. Within a year after graduating, they had their first son, Brandon, before moving back to Lawton in 1973 where they had their second child, Heath, in 1977 and became lifelong active residents and contributing members in the community. Kathy taught in the Lawton Public School system at Almor West, Woodland Hills, and Eisenhower Junior High. She then obtained her Masters in education from East Central University and then became a counselor at Macarthur Middle School. Kathy was an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist church for 37 years. She spiritually impacted others through the Great Plains Emmaus Community and the many retreats they offer promoting discipleship. She affected the lives of countless students during her 26 years in education. Many of these students graciously shared their love and respect for her during her battle with Uterine Papillary Carcinoma, which was diagnosed in April of 2009. Kathy communicated her passion for her family with not only her words, but with her every action. The respect, admiration, and love her family and friends hold for her will continue past the abbreviated life she left on March 26, 2011. Integrity, strength and love defined Kathy Bea Holsinger Reese from her first breath to her last. Her edgy and honest approach to life paved paths for many to follow. Kathy's legacy far exceeds anything her husband, children, grandchildren, family, friends and students dreamed or hoped to have in their lives. Her charisma, beauty, tenacity, and genuineness made an indelible imprint on uncountable hearts.
