Graveside service for Kathryn Shidler will be 2:00 pm Monday, March 28, 2022 at Highland Cemetery with Rev. Leonard Reimer, pastor of Faith Bible Church officiating.

Kathryn Shidler, age 85, of Lawton, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 in Lawton.  She was born September 21, 1936 in Center, Texas to Jewell E. and Alma Lee (Sowell) Watson.  She married Charles W. Shidler in 1953.  Together, they had five beautiful daughters.  Her children were the love of her life.  She worked side by side with her husband during the early years of her marriage, helping him manage a Dairy Queen in Chickasha, Oklahoma while caring for two toddlers and a new baby.

She later graduated from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, earning an Associates Degree in Technology and was on the Dean's List.  She then went to work as a programmer analyst at Northrop Worldwide Aircraft Service in Lawton, then Smith-Gruner in Ponca City, Oklahoma and R-Tec Systems in Bedford, Texas.  She then worked at Holy Cross in Mishawaka, Indiana and finally retired from a title company in Holland, Michigan.

She moved back to Lawton, Oklahoma, and after her oldest daughter became a resident at McMahon-Tomlinson Nursing Center, she spent most of her time visiting with her daughter and overseeing her care.

She is survived by four daughters, Lea Bean and her husband, Bob, Oklahoma City, Cheryl McCue, Oklahoma City, Laura Byrd and Charlene Donovan, both of Lawton, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, one nephew and two sisters, Patsy Clausen, Longview, Texas and Beverly Willson, Midland, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Jenny Davidson, brother, Billy Watson and grandson, Johnny Rogers.
