Funeral service for Katherine Marie Sanders, 21, Lawton, will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Don Howard officiating. Katherine died Sunday in Lawton. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service. She was born September 21, 1989 in Lawton to Reggie and Carmen Sanders. She grew up in Lawton and was a graduate of Eisenhower High School and had been active in FFA showing sheep. She was currently a student at Cameron University where she was studying journalism and was a National Merit Commended Scholar. Katherine was employed as a part time teller at the main branch of the Fort Sill Federal Credit Union. She is survived by a son, Austin Malewski, of the home; her mother, Carmen Sanders, Lawton; her father, Reggie Sanders, Chattanooga, Oklahoma; a sister, Angela Sanders, Lawton; her maternal grandparents, Billy and Ingrid Wright, Lawton; three aunts, Mini Melendy, Atlanta, Georgia, Betty Lawson and Anita Sanders, both of Lawton; an uncle, Randy Sanders, Elgin; numerous cousins and other relatives and a host of friends. Her paternal grandparents, James and Helen Sanders, and an uncle, Jimmy Sanders, preceded her in death.
