Graveside service for Mrs. Katharina Watkins will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 19, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Terry Oates, associate pastor of Lighthouse Church of God officiating.

Burial will be under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Mrs. Katharina Watkins, age 82, passed away of natural causes on Monday, May 15, 2017 in her home in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Katy as she was known to her friends was born in Heidesheim, Germany on 19

June 1934 to her parent's Josef and Maria Steigner. She graduated from high

school in Germany and married Sarge R. Watkins on 12 May 1958 while he was

stationed in Germany.  He died November 26, 1996.  She became a naturalized citizen of the United States

on 12 January 1968. The couple had two children together.

Katy was a terrific wife and loving mother and friend to all that knew her.

She was a homemaker most of her life who enjoyed taking care of her friends and especially her family. She was a thoughtful, loving individual who will be greatly missed

by all who knew her.

Katy is survived by her daughter, Margarethe Metzger and Kerry Roper of

Lawton; son, Gene Watkins and wife Mary of Lawton; sister, Karolina Becker of Germany;  three grandchildren,James Curran and wife Renee of Albuquerque, Elizabeth Wilkins and husband

Dan of Norman, and Loreli Watkins and Chris Williams of Lawton; two

great-grandchildren Jayson Curran and Jessalyn Curran of Albuquerque; and

numerous other relatives and friends.
