Memorial service for Jutta Carter will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Steven Gillispie of Elara Caring Hospice officiating.
Jutta Carter age 62, of Lawton died Saturday, December 14, 2019 at her home in Lawton.
She was born in Illertissen, Germany on December 29, 1956 to Franz and Helene (Poppenberger) Lorenz.
Jutta was a mother, a friend, and a mentor to everyone around her.
She loved and cherished countless things throughout her life. She loved to learn, always making it a priority to soak up information about any and everything under the sun. She always had a book in her hand; in fact her personal library was something to speak of with literature from each corner of the earth.
Anyone who knew her would consider her a teacher in the purest form of the word, with such a passion for sharing knowledge and giving the very best and honest advice. She was a lifelong learner so it is no surprise that a career in education suited her well.
She also loved food, of all types. Jutta rarely turned down a meal or potluck and her skills in the kitchen were to be envied.
It must be also be mentioned that Jutta's knack for debate will never be forgotten. She rejoiced at any opportunity to exchange quick wit and friendly banter with those she cared about.
Jutta truly had a heart of gold, always sending cards, or taking time out of her day to reach out, very careful to remember important dates or occasions.
Most of all Jutta loved her family with her whole heart - she cherished her children and grandchildren, and reminisced and spoke of her family in Germany with love.
Jutta is survived by her four children, son, Henry Carter of Lawton, two daughters, Audrey Phillips and husband Chad of Lawton and Barbara Jolin and husband Bobby of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, son, Frank Carter of Lawton, seven grandchildren, Eliot Thompson, Chloe Thompson, Riley Thompson, Zoe Phillips, Elizabeth Phillips, Jaxon Jolin and Noah Jolin, one sister, Pia Bromberger and husband Helmut of Illertisen, Germany, and two nephews, Stefan and Martin Bromberger both of Illertissen, Germany.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
