Memorial service for Juanita Jo Burt Cook Melton will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018 in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with The Rev. Shelley Forrester, Rector officiating.

Placement of cremated remains will follow in the St. Andrew's Episcopal Church Columbarium under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Juanita Jo Burt Cook Melton, age 86, Lawton, died Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in Duncan.  She was born October 25, 1931 in Lawton to Roy A. and Monta I. (Sanders) Burt.  She grew up in Lawton and was a 1950 graduate of Lawton High School.  She married Ronald E. Cook and they were married for 44 years before his passing.  She later married Donald Lee Melton who died only four months after their marriage.

Juanita Jo was primarily a homemaker but had worked at Sanders Hardware, as a realtor with Ron Cook Realtors and Quality Homes and also as an interior designer with her husband Ron's real estate business.

She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and was a past Worthy Matron with the Eastern Star.  She enjoyed ballroom dancing, art and was an amazing seamstress.

She is survived by her son, Douglas Cook, Garland, Texas; her daughter, Danita Irene Cook Hundley, Yukon, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Cassandra Holton, Lawton, Courtney Johnson, Stillwater, Oklahoma, Reese Alan Hundley, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Anna Jo Hundley, Yukon, Oklahoma; six great grandchildren, Chelsie, Aubrey, Ryker, Taylor, Ryder and Josiah; one great great grandson, Max; her brother and sister-in-law, R.A. and Debbie Burt; her sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Richard Terry.

Her parents, a son-in-law, Chet Hundley, and her sister, Wanda Elise Burt Shanklin Anderson, preceded her in death.
