Funeral service for Joshua Kolt Whitehead will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2015, in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Greg Baxter officiating. Burial in Highland Cemetery will be at a later date. The family will greet friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Joshua Kolt Whitehead, age 26, died Thursday, November 5, 2015 in Lawton. He was born on June 23, 1989 in Roanoke, Virginia. Josh grew up in Roanoke, Hawaii and Lawton. He was a 2008 graduate of Macarthur High School where he played football, basketball and was a member of the Show Choir. He later attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford and was studying to be a physical therapist. Josh loved to sing and dance. He loved to make people laugh and had the greatest hug' in the world. He is survived by a daughter, Rylee Annette Whitehead and his fiancé, Destiny Smith, both of the home; his mother, Rita Wilson Hess, Lawton; his father, Bobby Whitehead, Austin, Texas; three brothers, Jared Turner, Fairbanks, Alaska, R.J. Whitehead, Germany and Judson Whitehead, Austin, Texas; four sisters, Alana Whitehead, Enid, Oklahoma, Ava Hess and Dena Rogoff, both of Lawton and Dana Cothren, Atlanta, Georgia; maternal grandmother, Maria Hennrietta Wilson, Lawton; several nieces and nephews. His paternal grandparents, James Bryan and Nancy W. Whitehead, and his maternal grandfather, MSG (Retired) A.R. Wilson, preceded him in death.
