Funeral service for Joseph "Jay" Laine was held Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Brad Billheimer, Oklahoma City officiating.

Burial with Full Military Honors and Masonic Rites was in the Post Cemetery, Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

Joseph "Jay" Laine, 87, Lawton passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 in the Lawton-Fort Sill Veterans Center.  He was born July 2, 1931 in Frenchville, Maine to Alfie and Alice (DuBois) Laine.  Jay was retired from the US Army, and his greatest loves were his family, country, volunteering for veterans and the Lord.  He married Shirley Caldwell on April 14, 1971 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Jay is survived by his wife Shirley, his children; Reynold Laine, Bruce Laine, Melody Laine, Kathy and Sam Bittle, David and Susan McFarland, Robert and Terri McFarland, grandchildren; Taylor Laine, Aspen Laine, Sarah and Brad Billheimer, Joshua and Carolyn Pulley, Kimberly Bittle, Dawn and Eric Barnes, Stacey and Chris Jones, Scott and Shannon Cothren, Kevin McFarland, Jessica McFarland, Michael McFarland, Emily McFarland, great grandchildren; Ethan Bellman, Gavin Eimers, Connor Adames, Natalie Billheimer, Mollie Billheimer, Zane Pulley, Gabriel Adames, Graham Billheimer, Audree Jones, James Jones, Henry Cothren, Adam Cothren and Milla Conner.  He is also survived by his siblings; Jim Lainey of Stepherdsville, Kentucky, John Lainey of Plainville, Connecticut, and Millie DuBois of Forestville, Connecticut.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Harold Lainey, Rod Laine, Gil Lainey, Mable LaChance and a son Phillip Laine.
