Graveside service for John R. Mavity, 87, Lawton will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Highland Cemetery with Kerry Malakosky, pastor of Liberty Heights Chapel officiating. Mr. Mavity died Friday, March 15, 2013 in Lawton. Burial will be under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. He was born October 13, 1925 in Craig, Missouri to John E. and Josephine (Nauman) Mavity. He married Shirlene Williamson on January 1, 1951 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Mr. Mavity retired from Civil Service at Fort Sill and then owned Ray Nauman Surplus for many years. He attended Liberty Heights Chapel. He is survived by his wife, of the home, three daughters, Pattie Bowden, Lawton, Sharon Ann Matheson and her husband George, Edmond, Oklahoma and Betsy Diane Rice and her husband Greg, Aberdeen, Maryland and four grandchildren, Mark Bowden, Molly Matheson, Brent Rice and Robin Rice.
