Funeral service for John William Kendall, 72, Lawton, will be 9:00 a.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014, in the Korean Presbyterian Church with Rev. Pyung Jong Sim, Pastor, officiating. John died Sunday, August 10, 2014, at a local hospital. Burial with full military honors will be in the Post Cemetery, Fort Sill, under the direction of the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. John was born on October 14, 1941 in Franklin, Pennsylvania to William H. and Hazel Pearl (Myers) Kendall. He joined the Army after high school. He earned the Vietnam Service medal with eight service stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device, five overseas service bars and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm. He married Song Cha in 1975 in Seoul, South Korea. He is survived by his wife of the home; a daughter, Chris Jones; a son, John Kendall, Jr., a sister, Peggy; and three brothers, Lonnie Kendall, Bobby Kendall and Nick Kendall.
