Memorial service for John Allen Abbey will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Freedom Christian Fellowship, Lawton with Pastor Nick Lovenburg officiating.

John Allen Abbey, age 58, of Lawton, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017 in Lawton.  He was born June 30, 1959 in Lawton to Allen Duane and Margaret (Northfield) Abbey.  He graduated Eisenhower High School in 1977.  After graduation he started working for Halliburton Energy Services at the age of 18.  He had just recently celebrated his 40 years of service.  He was loyal, dedicated and a hard worker.  He met his wife Suzanne Gomez in 1990 and they were married in Lawton on June 30, 1995.  John loved college football and was a fan of the Oklahoma Sooners.  He also enjoyed college and NBA basketball.  He was a lifetime member of the NRA and an avid coin collector.  John was a loving husband, caring, generous and loved by many.  He was the "Life of the party".  He will be loved and missed dearly.  John was a member of Freedom Christian Fellowship.

He is survived by his wife Suzanne of the home, daughter Christy Butler and husband Dallas of Lawton, son Phil Bonar and wife Jo Ann of Lawton, grandchildren, Isaiah Passi, Gracie Bonar, Haylee Bonar, Noah Butler and Elijah Butler all of Lawton, two brothers, James Abbey and wife Tina of Seattle, WA, Duane Abbey of Apache, OK, nephew Matthew Van Doozer of Duncan, OK, Niece Briana Van Doozer and numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
