Jo Marie Riley, age 92, peacefully passed away at her home in Lawton on Thursday, July 11, 2024. Born on June 3, 1932, in Alpine, Texas, to Gaston D. and Johnnie L. (Johnson) Hunsucker, Jo moved to Lawton at a young age. She attended Ursuline Academy in Dallas, Texas, before returning to Lawton and graduating from Lawton High School in 1951.

Jo and Linden Riley were united in marriage on June 21, 1969, in Lawton. Together, they created a loving blended family. Jo brought Ric Hankins (Norma), Jan Hankins Rhodes, Steve Hankins (Teri), Sherri Conwell (Robert), and cousin, Dee Montague (Eric). Linden brought Sean Riley (Maggie), Kathy Hodges, and Shannon Riley (Gina). Their family was a beautiful testament to love and unity.

Jo dedicated many years to Civil Service at Fort Sill and served as a secretary at Eisenhower Senior High School. In 1979, Jo and Linden embarked on a new journey, opening The Salt Cellar, where they joyfully served the Southwest Oklahoma community with Bibles, books, and Christian products until their retirement in 2009 due to Linden's ill health.

A masterful seamstress and quilter, Jo lovingly crafted numerous dance costumes over the years. Her unwavering Christian faith was evident in all aspects of her life. Jo and Linden were devoted members of several local church congregations, and at the time of her passing, Jo was a cherished member of One in the Spirit Christian Church.

Jo loved deeply and fiercely, always putting her family and faith first. Her god-fearing nature was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and relationships. She had an incredible ability to make everyone smile, spreading joy and warmth wherever she went. Jo's memory will be forever treasured by her children, 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson, as well as her sister-in-law, Sandy Hunsucker. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Linden, her sons Ric and Sean, and her brother Jack Hunsucker.

Jo Marie Riley's life was a testament to faith, family, and love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
