Her family briefly moved to California before making their home in Anadarko, Oklahoma where Jo lived until moving to Marlow, Oklahoma during her senior year. She graduated from Marlow high School in May 1951, where she was a majorette for the MHS Band. She married S.A. Jackson, her husband of 61 years on October 20, 1951 at the 5th Street Baptist Church in Marlow. Together they raised three sons; Keith, Ronnie and Rodney Jackson, often going to two and three football and baseball games weekly. She co-owned and operated the family business, Jackson's Laundromats. She was a member of First Baptist East and worked as the church secretary for many years. She was a member of the Flower Mound Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the ABC Bowling League at Thunderbird Lanes for many years. She was an avid painter and enjoyed her pool and the sun. She was a friendly and loving woman who never met a stranger. She was very passionate about animals and raised horses and cattle and especially loved her dogs and cats. She enjoyed cooking and made sure her family was always taken care of, often never sitting until everyone had a plate. Her hot rolls were a family tradition. She loved her children, daughters-in-law and grandchildren so much and taught all of them the very important lesson to always eat their dessert first. She will be thought of daily and loved forever.
