Jimmie Ray Glandon, 85, of Elgin passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022 after a brief illness with pneumonia.  Jimmie was born September 5, 1936 in Cache, Oklahoma to Cecil K. and Pearl Rose (Blackwelder) Glandon.  He was a graduate of the Lawton High School Class of 1954.  He married the love of his life and lifelong best friend Elizabeth Ann Brantley on May 3, 1957 in Lawton, Oklahoma.  They had three wonderful children together, Rhonda, Retha and Ragan.  He was in the National Guard and at one time he was in the US Army Reserves.  He worked as a beer delivery man, then went to work for the US Postal Service, as a mail carrier and mechanic until his retirement in 1992.  After retirement Jimmie and Beth traveled all over the United States in their camper staying in various places, one being their most favorite, Yellowstone National Park.  Jimmie was a man that enjoyed anything that had to do with piddling outside.  Jimmie taught all of his grandkids and great grandkids the love of fishing and camping.  On most spring and summer days you could always find him digging and tending to his tomato patch.  He was the most patient and caring person anyone could have ever met.

Survivors include his wife of the home, sister Patricia Sharpe of Lawton, daughter Retha Knowles and husband Joe of Elgin, Oklahoma, Son Ragan Glandon and wife Cheryl of Albuquerque, New Mexico, grandchildren; Rayla Torres and husband David, Cade Golden and wife Holly, Ben Moorhead and wife Phoebe, Kelly Glover and husband Jamie, Sammy Bricker and husband Shawn, Kayleigh Glandon and Christy Glandon.  He is also survived by great grandchildren; Falcon, Titan, Scarlet, and Saint Moorhead, Jhett Glover, Cael and Kori Bricker and Jayce Golden, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
