Funeral service for Jim Snyder will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 27, 2017 in the First Baptist Church, Snyder with Rev. Jeff Flowers, Former Pastor officiating.

Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder.

The family will greet friends Wednesday evening, April 26, 2017 from 7pm until 8pm at the funeral home.

Jim Snyder, 86, Snyder passed away Monday, April 24, 2017 in Snyder.  He was born May 5, 1930 in Lafayette, IN to Herman L. and Leila (Martin) Snyder.  He graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1948 and from Oklahoma State University in 1954.  He served as a Captain in the US Army for 4 years.  He married Alma Faye Holder in 1953 in Snyder.  Jim was a highway construction engineer and built highways, roads and bridges all over the United States. After his retirement he returned to Snyder in 1994, where he and Joyce Holder operated H & S Construction.  Jim enjoyed hunting and trap-shooting and was an avid collector of shotguns.

He is survived by his wife Alma Faye of the home, son James Snyder and his wife Lisa of Des Moines, IA, 3 grandchildren; Steve Snyder, University of Missouri, Kaitlin Snyder, University of Tulsa and Amanda Snyder, Central College, Pella, IA.  He is also survived by brother-in-law Dan Ramsey of Snyder, brother & sister-in-law Kenneth and Shirley Holder of Snyder, sister-in-law Helen Holder of Snyder and six nieces, Ann Holder, Karla Dodson, Janet Woodall, Pam Ford, Ginny Nunley and Kathy Ramsey and two nephews, Joe Ramsey and Bret Ramsey.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Susan.
