Special service for family and friends for Jesus M. Ortiz Cordero will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at the Iglesia de Dios Vasijas de Honra Church (1503 SW Jefferson Ave., Lawton, OK) with Rev. Taynna Cabrera officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, Oklahoma under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends Tuesday evening, September 8, 2020 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jesus M. Ortiz Cordero, 71, of Lawton, Oklahoma died Wednesday, September 2, 2020, with his family by his side in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He was born on September 19, 1948, in Dorado, Puerto Rico to Manuel and Mariana (Cordero) Ortiz. He joined the United States Armed Forces in 1969 and became a veteran of Vietnam in 1975.

Jesus met and married Hilda Diaz in 1972. They moved to Lawton, Oklahoma in 2011.

He was an active member and deacon of Iglesia de Dios Vasijas de Honra.

His interests included spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading, sightseeing and working in crafts. He was always telling jokes and smiling. Jesus was a humble, kind and giving man who will be missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Ortiz is survived by his wife Hilda; his daughter Annette; his three sons Jesus, Luis and Oscar and eight grandchildren.
