Private graveside services were held for Jesse Dow Jennings on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at IOOF Cemetery in Indiahoma.

Burial was under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Jesse Dow Jennings, age 91, of Lawton, passed away passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017 in Lawton.  Mr. Jennings was born May 25, 1926 in Indiahoma, Oklahoma to Hershel R. and Mary Bell Jennings.  He served in the Army and after being honorably discharged from the service he married Laura Elizabeth Jarvis on December 21, 1954 in Walters, Oklahoma.  They had three children, Kenneth Jennings, Teresa Garcia and James Jennings.  He was employed for thirty-three years at Public Service Company of Oklahoma and retired in the late 1980's as a foreman.  Once retired, Mr. Jennings enjoyed numerous hobbies such as drawing, traveling, going to the target range and visiting with family and friends.  Mr. Jennings was also certified through the FCC with an amateur radio license and enjoyed talking to people from all over the world.  He also enjoyed nature, especially feeding the birds, picking pecans and spending time in the mountains of Colorado and Tennessee.  Mr. Jennings was a very compassionate person who made the most of all of the days he was blessed to have on this earth.  His greatest joy in life was helping others.  He will be remembered as a mighty spirit with a gentle soul.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Elizabeth Jennings, of the home, a daughter, Teresa Garcia, a son, James Jennings, three grandchildren, April, Dawn and her husband Rey and Rick, II and his wife Erica, four great grandchildren, Samantha, Rick III, Katie and Sean and two great great grandchildren, Landon and Annabelle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and a son, Kenneth D. Jennings.
