Age 71, Marlow - Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm Wednesday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Vivian Garza, Pastor of Antioch Baptist Church, South of Lawton officiating. Mr. Kovacs died Friday at his home. Burial with Lawton Fire Department Honors will be in Sterling Cemetery, Sterling. He was born November 5, 1936 in Lawton to Stephen and Lora Mae (Burk) Kovacs. He served in the US Navy from 1954 until 1958, where he was a member of the Naval Honor Guard. He married Latricia Ann Cain on May 2, 1959 in Lawton. Mr. Kovacs retired from the Lawton Fire Department as Deputy Chief in 1988, where he had served 27 years. He was involved in rodeos and roped for many years, was a licensed journeyman electrician, and was a member of the Elks Lodge. Mr. Kovacs was an extraordinary Man, Husband, Father and Grandfather. Survivors include his wife Latricia of the home, 3 children, Kimberly and husband Billy Geiger of Sterling, Jeri Bruner and Bill Slate of Marlow, Jerry S. Kovacs, Jr. and wife Barbara of Sterling, Sister Barbara Jean Ryans of Lawton, brother Dale Kovacs and wife Helen of Madisonville, TX, grandchildren Bradley Geiger and wife Kendra, Stanton Geiger and wife Lindsay, Cheyenne Geiger, Sierra Kovacs, Ashlyn Kovacs, Hudson Grant, Haylee Bruner, two great grandchildren, Kenley Geiger and Alli Geiger. He is also survived by a special sister-in-law Joan Cain of Indiahoma, Special Niece, Donna Caldwell of Geronimo, four special friends, J.D. Pool, Leon Fletcher, Jack Hickox and Howard Council and wife Genevieve, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Special Brothers-in-law, Eugene Ryans, Larry Cain, and his Mother-in-law Mary Bockting.
