Age 53, Lawton - Services will be at 1:30 PM Tuesday at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Donny Crittendon, pastor of Paradise Valley Baptist Church officiating. Our beloved Jerry Paul was called to heaven on Saturday, July 24, 2010. He died from complications due to illness. His precious heart just gave out. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. He was born on January 24, 1957 in Lawton to Paul and Darlene Fontenot after years of trying to conceive. What a joy he was to them. Three years later his "Sissy" Darla was born. He watched over her. He always let her "tag along" when they were young. He is her best friend. Jerry Paul grew up in Lawton and moved away several times always to return to the place he loved the most, where his family and friends are. He had a wonderful talent for making and recovering furniture. He was an upholsterer for many years. He had a love for the outdoors. He loved to fish with his father every chance he got. He loved to work out in his beautiful flower beds while he listened to rock-n-roll. He has a beautiful yard that he grew for his mother. He also loved to hang out with his best friends, Pete, Freddy and Marvin. He has one daughter and two grandchildren that he loved more than life itself. He loved people and never met a stranger. He is loved by all of us and we will miss his smiling face, his love for laughter, his big caring heart and his love for us and all the animals. He is survived by his mother Darlene Ehmer and her companion Mack Cox, of the home, his father and step-mother, Paul and Benny Fontenot, Lawton, his daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren, Casi Ann, Greg, DebiAnn and Christian "Bubba" Walters, of Alabama, his sister, Darla Fontenot Sayre, Lawton, two nieces, Nichole Fontenot, of the home and Brandi Sayre, Lawton, a great nephew, Noah Lewis, Lawton and his aunt and uncle Shirley and Jessie Graves, Lawton and numerous other relatives in Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his beloved cousin, Steven Rathsack, his wonderful step father, James "Tiny" Ehmer, paternal grandparents, Leo and Celia Fontenot, maternal grandparents Lester and Bernice Stout and his uncle Nolton Fontenot.
