Jay Dee Quarles, age 73, of Lawton, Oklahoma, passed away on June 8th, 2026.  Jay was born on November 23rd, 1952, in El Paso, Texas, to Donald and Matsuko Quarles. He graduated from Eisenhower High School and later attended Cameron University.

On December 10th, 1986, Jay married the love of his life, Vanda Fair, in Lawton, Oklahoma. Together they built a beautiful life and family. In June 1987, they welcomed their daughter Melissa Jean, and in July 1992, they welcomed their son Jason Dee.

Jay dedicated himself to serving others through his work as an HVAC technician and maintenance repairman for local apartment communities for over 30 years.

If you were lucky enough to know Jay, I'm sure you will remember his never-fading smile and laid-back personality. He was calm in demeanor but a force to be reckoned with on the drums. Music was one of his greatest passions. Throughout his life, he played in numerous bands and shared the stage with many talented musicians. He found joy in bringing people together through music and creating lasting relationships along the way. Among the most treasured was sharing the stage with his son Jason with Signal 4 Band.

Jay was preceded in death by his father Donald Quarles; his brothers Michael and Roy Quarles; In-laws Joe and Jean Fair.

Jay is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Vanda Quarles; his cherished children Melissa Neugebauer and husband Jesse; Jason Quarles and wife Anisa; His greatest joy was being a proud grandpa to Joseph and Shelby Neugebauer, and Mavis and Penelope Quarles; His mother Matsuko Quarles; Sister Linda Schoonover; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Though he is no longer with us, his love, laughter, and legacy will remain in our hearts forever. He will be dearly missed.
