Obituary

Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, Jason Mel Ludlow, age 51, passed away at his home in Elgin, Oklahoma on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. He was born July 2, 1971, in Payson, Utah. Jason worked for most of his career as a General Manager in the restaurant industry but most notably known as a certified Sommelier. Jason had passion and a deft touch when it came to wine and wine education. He had a palate that provided perfection in delivery of wine and food pairings, elevating a customer's experience along with family and friends. Jason was well known for his love of fast cars and motorcycles and loved hopping on for a good ride letting the road take him to natures splendor. Growing up, neighborhood kids looked up to Jason for what music to listen to, how to skateboard, play Dungeons & Dragons or just take a karate lesson in the back yard. He loved biking in Moab and hiking in the Utah mountains. Jason was a true friend to everyone he met. He inspired everyone around him to be their best. Jason was downright funny and always had that little snarky comment that just spiraled everyone into laughter. On August 15, 2012, Jason's life was magnified with the birth of his daughter Nyah. She was and will always be Jason's shining star. Nyah's extremely close to her papa and loves him dearly. She loved going to Disneyland with Papa and aunt Danni, coloring Easter eggs with her cousins, Teagan and Bailey, going to the Zoo to see the animals and ride the train with Grandma Jane. They made every minute count. Nyah is truly going to be lost without her papa. On May 27, 2018, he married Monica Lynn Ulibarri. Together, they fell in love and began their adventure. Jason and Monica loved traveling, enjoying a nice glass of wine, cooking and tossing the frisbee to their fur baby Enzo. Their adventure ended much sooner than planned but will continue when they meet again. This is a huge loss and Monica along with all the family, will miss him daily.

He is survived by his beloved wife of five years, Monica Ulibarri, daughter, Nyah Ludlow, stepson, Jaret Ulibarri, stepdaughter, Hope Ulibarri, sister, Danielle McElroy and father, Brent Ludlow.

Jason was preceded in death by his mother, Jane King Ludlow.
