Age 62, Lawton - Services will be 1:30 PM Friday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Dr. William F. Watkins, Baptist Minister, officiating. Mrs. Grooms died Tuesday in a local hospital. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery. She was born on November 6, 1945 in Oklahoma City to Charles W. and Mary Olive (Alderson) Hunt. She moved to Lawton in 1973. She married J.C. Grooms in Lawton on December 22, 1973. He died on July 2, 1994. She worked in Medical Records at Comanche County Memorial Hospital and as the head dispatcher for the Comanche County Sheriff's Department for several years. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Grooms of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Grooms and Donna of Lawton and Randall Grooms and Aundrea of Edmond; a grandson, Joshua Cain Grooms of Edmond; a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Dr. Jack Spencer, DC of Lawton; and two nieces, Sheri Faust and husband, David, of Georgia, and Vickie Cloud and husband, Jon, of Lawton. Her parents and husband preceded her in death. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
