Funeral service for Jane Marie Kinzer Lewis will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2025 in Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Willoughby officiating.
Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
Jane was born on June 22, 1940, in Grandfield, Oklahoma to Henry Evans Kinzer and Clara Marie (Grant) Kinzer. She left this earth on May 19, 2025, to reside in Heaven with our Lord and Savior. Jane was the second of six children and the only daughter. She started school at Brush Creek, a one room schoolhouse between Grandfield and Chattanooga before finishing her secondary education in Grandfield High School in 1958 where she was voted "Most Likely to Succeed". She then attended Cameron Junior College where she was named "Most Outstanding Student". From there she attended the University of Oklahoma where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.
Jane started her teaching career in Oklahoma City before moving to Wichita, Kansas to continue her career. She returned to Lawton to teach and earned a Master's degree in Reading at OU. Her education career spanned 17 years. Jane was then introduced to John Lewis by a fellow teacher, Neta Lewis (John's Daughter). In 1977 they married, and it was the beginning of 36 amazing years! The marriage blessed Jane with three grown daughters, and John with his first bulldog! Jane quit teaching, and their wonderful life together took flight!!!
Jane was fortunate to reconnect with her Special Friend, Ron White, later in life. They had many fulfilling adventures, including several overseas trips. She had many passions and one of the greatest was her PEO group and her many wonderful friends. She also loved the holidays and would celebrate them with large family gatherings, sometimes numbering around 50+ for lunch on Thanksgiving! Jane was a true trooper, a wonderful partner and a very classy lady. She effortlessly managed her roles as Mama Jane to three daughters and Granny Jane to seven grandchildren. Jane was a truly perfect mom, wife, mother-in-law, daughter, and sister (to 5 brothers she truly loved).
Jane's philosophy was that life is about change: Nothing ever stays the same. The choices you make, or don't make, determine the changes. You should live every day to the fullest but remember the way you live determines the joy that fills your heart.
Jane's class, dignity, integrity, love, smile and twinkling eyes have made this a better world for all.
Jane is survived by three brothers- Dick Kinzer of Uvalde, TX; David (Rosemary) Kinzer of Lewisville, TX; and Stephen (Cathi) Kinzer of Midland, TX. Three daughters- Johnnye Friedrich, of Florida; Kathy and Terry Freeman, of Medicine Park, OK; and Neta and Barry Beauchamp, of Lawton, OK. Grandchildren: Gary Friedrich, Paul (Deborah) Friedrich, Karl Friedrich, Erin Freeman, John Michael (Rachel) Freeman, JT (Melissa) Beauchamp, and Pryce (Sarah) Beauchamp. Five great-grandchildren- Mariah Doran, Ella Freeman, Elayne Freeman, Amelia Nix and Charleigh Jane Beauchamp. She leaves behind a host of beloved nieces and nephews. Jane was preceded in death by husband John Lewis of Lawton, OK; and brothers Grant Kinzer of Las Cruces, NM, and Bob Kinzer of Alexandria, VA.
