Funeral services for James Wesley "Wes" Mashburn will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Church, in Lawton, Oklahoma with Rev. Dr. Bill Schneider, pastor officiating.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.

James Wesley "Wes" Mashburn, 71, was born to James Norman Mashburn and Mildred Q. (Quain) Mashburn on February 19, 1953, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024, in Lawton, Oklahoma. As a child Wes moved with his parents to Virginia where his father taught for a few years in a university. However, Wes spent most of his life living in Lawton, Oklahoma, graduating from Lawton High in 1971. On October 19, 1981, he married Linda Johanna (Hughes) Mashburn in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He worked for Goodyear from 1983 until 2022.

Wes enjoyed all types of Nascar racing. He loved to watch the races and collect memorabilia. He also enjoyed OU football. Most importantly, Wes loved and was faithful to his church, St. John Lutheran, where he served as a Trustee. He was a caring and loving man who believed in always putting the wants and needs of others first.

Survivors include his wife Linda of the home; son, Brandon D. Mashburn and wife Breanna; a grandson, Dax M. Mashburn; one sister, Donna Gleason; and his mother-in-law, Gisela E. Hughes.

Wes was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Patrick C. Mashburn; and brother-in-law, Larry Gleason.
