Memorial service for James  E. Seabolt will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 at First Baptist East, Lawton with Rev. Doug Passmore, Pastor officiating.

Private family burial of cremated remains at Sunset Memorial Gardens will be scheduled at a later date.

James "Jim" E. Seabolt, age 78, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 at his home in Lawton.  Jim was born January 24, 1939 in Ada, OK to Alvin Edward and Zee (Galyon) Seabolt.  He grew up in Lawton and graduated from Lawton High School. He was a member of the first senior class to graduate from the "new" Lawton High School who went to the new high school their entire high school time. At one time he was a Department manager at the Fort Sill PX and later worked at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Plant. Jim retired from Goodyear after working there for more than 20 years. On April 11, 1988 Jim married Elise O. Gunter in Wichita Falls, TX and was married for nearly 28 years before Elise passed away on April 2, 2016. Jim liked to watch sports and when his health would allow it he enjoyed bowling and golfing. As a youngster he played youth baseball.

Jim is survived by his two children from a previous marriage to Retta (Coombs) Seabolt, son, Greg Seabolt and his wife Thresa and son Matthew of Lawton, daughter, Karen Ritter and daughter Kimberly of Lawton, two stepsons, Jon Hipp and wife Cathy and their children Sierra, Alexis, and Malory, David Hipp and wife Terra and their children Taylor, Amanda, and Jake, and sister Margurette Conner, and many other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and brother and sister-in-law Gordon and Edna Seabolt.
