James Troy "Jim" Russell passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2025, at the age of 75. He passed away in the Temple Manor Nursing Home in Temple, Oklahoma. He was born on November 9, 1949, to James and Betty Russell. James was the oldest son of eight children, his brothers and sister are as follows Ben, Bobby, Victor (deceased), Raymond (deceased), Joe, Joann, Samuel (deceased).

James was married to Sandra Dagget and of that marriage he was the father of three children,
Shawn Russell (Racheal) of Sedalia, Missouri, Sara Twomen (Frank) of Canton, Missouri and Samuel Russell of Hurdland, Missouri.

James was the grandfather to nine grandchildren, Skyler Russell, Emma Russell, LaMar Clay, Jordan Russell (Celeste), Anthony Clay (Alex), Alyxsandra Russell, Hunter Russell, Samuel Russell, Jr, and Bri Knight. He is the great grandfather to six grandchildren, Noah, Luna, Ryver, Brently and one other name unknown.

James was in the military and then drove 18 wheelers across the country. He enjoyed listening to country music, fishing, dancing and he loved spending time with friends and family. James also enjoyed cooking and mushroom hunting, being outdoors and his dogs!

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Betty, three brothers Victor, Raymond, & Samuel and one great grandchild.

James will be laid to rest at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma.
