Obituary

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel in Lawton, Oklahoma.

James Dale McQuain was born on July 11,1969, to Evelyn Mae Shultz and Bobby Edward McQuain in Lawton, Oklahoma.  James passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at his home in Lawton, Oklahoma surrounded by his loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his mother Evelyn, his father Bobby Edward and his older brother Bobby.

He is survived by his daughter Heather Leigh Dodson and her husband Cody Dodson of Elgin, Oklahoma; two grandchildren Bayleigh Works and Tripp Dodson; sister Donna Pallares-Brammer and her husband Ed; sister Joyce Mozie; sister Denise Higgins; his twin brother Jerry McQuain; and sister Cristal Green;  two beloved nieces, Savannah Diehl and her husband Justin; and Christina McQuain Groseclose and her husband Jody; nephews Carlos Pallares, David Mozie and his wife Cameron, and Dustin Devine; and many great nieces/nephews, cousins, family and friends.

James worked as a Sales manager for Cecil Lawson for close to 15 years then went to Aubrey Chevrolet. He then received his Real Estate license in 2003 and sold homes for about 10 years. James was the owner of Half Price Records for approximately 20 years.

James adored his grandchildren, Bayleigh and Tripp. He would always brag to people about them. He was a lover of OU football and watching movies. He enjoyed big Fourth of July parties and Christmas at the farm. His favorites times were cooking large family dinners, mowing his yard and playing dominoes with his family and friends. He would always talk smack to Heather for being a Dallas Cowboys fan, Cody for being an Oklahoma State fan and anyone who was brave enough to sit at the domino table, especially Savannah, Justin, Nate and Amy. But most importantly, James had a giving heart and was always willing to help anyone who may have needed it.

The family would like to thank Dr. Caballero, CCMH nurses, and his hospice nurses Candy and Gloria for their great care. Heather and her husband Cody would like to give an additional special thank you to their cousins Savannah, Christina, David, Ashley Wallace and Ashley Brierton and their Aunt Donna for their constant love, support and care for their dad during his stay in the hospital and his remaining time left at home.
