James L. "Jim" Nix, 82, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma with his family by his side.

During Jim's life time, he took on many ventures. He worked at Coca-Cola, Sears, Midwest Furniture, Wonder Bread, owned a gas station, and owned a tire service with his brother, Dee. After Daviline's death, Jim just could not return to Nix Tire Service without her there so he sold the business and started a dairy with his son, James and the help of many family members. His last employment was at Swinford Sand in Lawton. He later married Judy Burk and together they traveled and enjoyed spending time with family from 1992 until 2016.

Jim loved racing and made every race he could. He especially liked to watch his family that raced. His bucket list included work camping in his RV. He joined his daughter, Kathy and son-in-law Bruce Lefebvre on one of their travel adventures at Lake Conroe, Texas KOA (Kampgrounds of America). That was a wonderful year and we thank Pat Childers for that opportunity. Jim went back to Lawton, Oklahoma to spend time with his son-in-law and daughter, Ricky and Linda Swinford and the rest of the family. There was a memorable week spent with Jim's children visiting James and Danelle Nix in Yuma, Arizona. He moved in with his son-in-law and daughter, John and Sandy Mayhue and spent the last year enjoying their beautiful and scenic backyard. He loved watching all the birds that lived there. He also loved the church members of Catoosa Hills Christian Church where John Mayhue is the pastor. He was affectionately referred to as, "the trouble that always followed Sandy".

The family would like to thank Scissortail Healthcare and Rose Rock Hospice, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma, for their special care.

Jim is survived by his children, Kathy and Bruce Lefebvre, of Oklahoma City, James and Danelle Nix of Yuma, Arizona, Sandy and John Mayhue of Sand Springs. Oklahoma, Linda and Ricky Swinford of Lawton, Oklahoma; his brother, Dee Nix and wife Beverly of Lawton, Oklahoma, sister-in-laws, Romelda Byrd of Lawton, Oklahoma, Robbye Nix of Lawton, Oklahoma and Kathy Nix of Midwest City, Oklahoma, grandchildren, Stacy and Gary Ellis, Michele Lefebvre, David Nix, Jennifer and T.J. Gibson, Ryan Nix, Ashley and Cole Mallett, Brittany and Luke Pittman, Crystal and Jonathan Van Horn, Amber and Daniel Hunt, Sean Mayhue, Shaina Mayhue, Paige and Jimmie Camden, Chase and Shelby Swinford, Dane and Victori Swinford, Haley and Jessie Wilson, Tiffany and Conner Sullins, Joshua Swinford, Caleb Swinford, Deidre Swinford and Tara Swinford, 21 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
