Obituary

Age 37, Lawton - Memorial service will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Dr. Dell Kennedy, PhD, Nondenominational Minister, officiating. Mr. Ferrell died Wednesday. Arrangements are with the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service. He was born in Lawton on January 24, 1973 to James and Sharron (Stacy) Ferrell. Jimmy attended Elgin High School where he enjoyed being a part of the wrestling and football teams. As most Oklahoma boys, Jimmy was an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan. His second favorite team was the Bombers Soccer Club, that he helped coach for his son Pepper. Jimmy also loved to spend time with his grandparents, Leo & Peggy Whitley at their farm. He worked for Mid-South Baking as a supervisor and also worked as a welder for Holt Caterpillar. Jimmy's most proud accomplishment in this life was to be dad to his three Kids. These kids were his passion and love of his life. He radiated with pride and joy every time he talked about them. Jimmy accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in July of 2005. So it is with a heavy earthly heart and joyful spirit that we know Jimmy is with his Father in Heaven. Survivors include his three children, Brady, Christopher "Pepper" and Nicki; his father and stepmother, James and Maggie Ferrell of Granbury, Texas; his mother, Sharron Newton of Lindsay, Oklahoma; his ex-wife, Barbie McCracken; four siblings, Tammy Mayer, Allen Russell, Michael Russell, and Christy McCracken; a stepson, D.J. McCracken and a step-granddad, Leo Whitley. He is preceded in death by his grandmother. Memorial contributions may be sent to Jim Ferrell, Children's College Fund, 4205 Southhaven, Granbury, Texas 76049.
