Age 81, Lawton - Graveside service will be 1:00 PM Monday at the Post Cemetery, Fort Sill, with Terry Marsh, Minister, Carriage Hills Christian Church, officiating. Mrs. Patton passed away on Monday, February 23, 2009, at a local care center. Burial will be under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 6:00 - 9:00 PM and on Monday from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM. She was born on July 8, 1927 at her family's homestead near Miami, Oklahoma to Nelis and Bessie Sparlin. She graduated from Miami High School in 1945. She married MSG (Retired) Walter E. Patton on December 12, 1945 in Columbus, Kansas. She lived in Lawton for the past 50 years and was active in several Masonic organizations. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy Fisher and Bob, and a granddaughter, Alison Fisher, all of Katy, Texas; and a daughter-in-law, Susan Oliver of Sterling, Oklahoma. Her parents, husband, a son, George D. "Dwight" Patton, and two sisters, Elizabeth Frye and Betty Hill, preceded her in death.
