Age 77, Geronimo - Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday in the New Geronimo High School Gymnasium with Rev. Jeffrey Crow and Eddie Coast officiating. Mr. Penland died Wednesday at his residence. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home. He was born February 7, 1933 in Geronimo to William Thomas and Nellie Mae Penland. He married Mary Andrews on January 11, 1952 at Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was retired from Civil service at Fort Sill, owned and operated Penland Top Soil, was a farmer and a coyote hunter. He was a longtime supporter of the Geronimo Fire Department and Community Center and enjoyed striper fishing at Lake Texoma. He is survived by his wife, of the home; a son & daughter in law, Tommy & Donna Penland, Geronimo; a daughter and son in law, Sharon and Dennis Osburn, Geronimo; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Misty and Carlos Rains, Amy and Chesley Warren, Chad Osburn, Thomas Penland, Gabriel Maldonado, Clayton and Cassandra Maldonado, Adam and Erlinda Maldonado and Cody and Stephanie Hilliary; 11 Great Grandchildren, Elisha and Kaylee Rains, Mason, Jack and Emilee Warren, Adam, Manuel Christopher, Sergio and Annalisa Maldonado and Kenneth Hilliary; several nieces and nephews.
