Funeral service for Jack H. McClung, 79, Lawton, will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014, in the Paradise Valley Baptist Church. Mr. McClung died Sunday, June 22, 2014, in Oklahoma City. Burial will be in the Paradise Valley Cemetery under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. Jackie Hugh McClung was born October 8, 1934 in Comanche County, Oklahoma, to Loyd B. and Pauline Jane (Morrison) McClung. He graduated from Elgin High School and was later bestowed an honorary doctorate by the American Christian College and Seminary. Jack was an entrepreneur who began his career while still in high school. He became the top salesperson in Oklahoma for Fuller Brush when he was only 17 years old. Much later in life he became famous for his invention and marketing of Blue Stuff, a topical pain relieving cream, which helped millions of customers live a better life. This invention led to many awards including: Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the Southwest Region, Oklahoma Innovator of the Year and Venture Capitalist of the year for the State of Oklahoma. His company, Blue Stuff, Inc., was the only company ever to be awarded the "Fastest Growing Company in Oklahoma" two consecutive years in a row. He achieved this when he was over 60 years old. He married his wife and best friend, Emma Rose Steelman on January 31, 1980. They resided in the Rio Grande Valley and later Oklahoma City. He attended Olivet Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. He loved fishing and talking - he never met a stranger he did not turn into a friend. He possessed a charismatic personality and was loved by thousands. His friends, family and loved ones remember him for many things but three stand out: he was a big thinker - when he did something he did it in a big way. Whether it was trying to catch the biggest fish, build the biggest company or tell the biggest tale; he was independently courageous - he never gave up - at the age of 75 he moved to Mexico alone to start a new business; he was caring and compassionate - he gave openly and generously to individuals and charitable foundations and ministries - he never stopped giving. He will be greatly missed but has left a very large legacy of rich and wonderful memories for those left behind. He was proud to be a Christian and we know that he anxiously entered heaven in the biggest way he could. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Emma McClung; four children, Debra and Bill Murray, Edmond, Michael and Sheila McClung, Advance Mills, Virginia, David and LaDon Steelman and Jeremy and Lisa Steelman, all of Oklahoma City; daughter in law, Angie Antwine; three step children, Lisa, Buddy and Lori; 12 grandchildren, Aaron Applewhite, Ashley Weems and husband Justin, Elizabeth Murray, Honor Mae McClung, Jadzia Mae McClung, Craig McClung, Sheldon McClung, Julius, Aspen, Jalen, Leah and Emma Steelman; two great grandchildren, Benjamin and Bryce Weems; a sister, Billie Ann Gilliland and husband Don; many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and thousands of friends and loved ones all over the world. His parents preceded him in death.
