Jack Long, age 79, of Lawton, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away at his Lawton residence on Sunday, January 28, 2024. Born February 29, 1944, in Los Angeles, California to Woodrow and Mary (Smith) Long, Jack's early years were shaped by his father's naval service, prompting the family's relocation near Lawton, Oklahoma, where he began his lifelong association with cattle work alongside his uncle, Emmitt Long, at the age of 5.
A proud graduate of Lawton High School's Class of 1962, Jack embarked on his entrepreneurial journey at 19, specializing in vinyl top installations and vehicle pinstriping. Jack attended college for a couple of years and served as the high school football and basketball coach at St. Mary's School in Lawton. Following a brief stint as a lineman with Southwestern Bell Telephone, he assumed stewardship of his father's business, the esteemed A and A Fence Company, before founding the Jack Long Foundation Repair Company, leaving an enduring mark of craftsmanship and commitment on his community.
Jack's union with the love of his life, Sandi Pierce, on November 19, 1986, enriched his life with the joys of fatherhood, embracing Kenny Kephart and Ricci Warner as his own. The arrival of their youngest son, Jackie "Deuce" Long, on August 16, 1990, further enriched their family. Jack's profound love for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren transcended words, shaping cherished bonds that will endure through generations.
As Jack Long bids farewell to earthly shores, his legacy of love and unwavering dedication remain etched in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him, a testament to a life well-lived and a heart that knew no bounds in its capacity to love.
Jack is survived by his children, daughter, Ricci Weaver and husband William "Bill" Weaver, son, Jackie Dale "Deuce" Long and wife Karis, grandchildren, Richard Warner and wife Chey'Anne, Elizabeth Kelley and husband Chris, Aydin, Deklyn, and Evan Long, Great grandchildren, Anora, Jaki, and Brock Warner and Tempy and Tristan Kelley.
