Funeral Mass for Ivan Ray Prowell, 75, Lawton, will be noon, Tuesday, July 1, 2014, in the Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Philip Seeton, Pastor officiating. Mr. Prowell died Friday, June 27, 2014, in at his home. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2014, in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel. He was born August 30, 1938 in Lawton to Loyal Thomas and Johnye V. (Atchley) Prowell. He grew up in Lawton and was a 1956 graduate of Lawton High School where he was salutatorian. He married Mary Julia Sarabia on October 17, 1964 in Lawton. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1961 and served for two years. Following his discharge he earned his associate degree at Cameron College while working for Sears, Roebuck and Company. Following graduation he continued to work for Sears until he retired after 41 years employment. At the time of his retirement he was the manager of the Automotive Sales Department. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He is survived by his wife, of the home; three daughters and two sons in law, Daniela and Jeff Little, and Jonea and Brent Hammond, all of Lawton, and Nicole Prowell, of the home; three grandchildren, Julia Ross and husband Connor, Yukon, Oklahoma, and Noah and Jarret Hammond, both of Lawton; two sisters, Lila Lee Clemons, Lawton, and Sheila Joy Cain and husband Darrel, Noble, Oklahoma; a sister in law and brother in law, Victoria and Jim VanSickel, Elgin; a soon to be born great granddaughter, Aria; Several nieces and nephews and many friends. His parents, two brothers, Forrest V. "Tom" Prowell and Donald "Teetum" Prowell, and his mother in law, Lucy Sarabia, preceded him in death. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1010 NW 82nd Street, Lawton OK 73505.
