Obituary

On Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 5:53 pm we lost Irmtraud K. Alfar, yet another loss due to covid 19.

Irmtraud K. Alfar, age 80, was born July 6, 1941 in Heuchelheim, Germany.

She is survived by her son, Frank K. Alfar, daughter-in-law, Sonda E. Williams and granddaughter, Whitney Williams and grandson, J. Michael Williams and his wife, Daniel Williams with great grandsons David Joseph,J.Michael, Pepper  Layne  and Bleu Lynn. Irmi as she was so affectionally known, was a friend to all and a mother to many. She was always a bright light. She was married to Reynaldo E. Alfar , aka Ray, who sadly passed on November 6, 2010. In her life, she struggled thru the Second World War with her mother, Elfrieda K. Kroeck and her father, Ernst Kroeck.

She was known as a very good salesperson and good the public, as she demonstrated at her sales job in Karstadt, a dept store in Germany. This is also where she met Ray. They later were married in the Philippines , the home country of Ray. She converted to Catholicism there. Then as the military does, we were stationed in Lawton Oklahoma and it became home for Irmi . As she told me numerous times, she loves it here. She worked at Wrights Steakhouse, first as a waitress then a hostess for many years until the business changed owners. Then she went to Bianco's as a hostess until she retired from the restaurant business.  She was active in the Phillipino American Club as was Ray, and also in the Mended Hearts club. She was also avid bowler in a league here in Lawton. She had many many friends in the Lawton community, Her German and Phillipino friends will dearly miss her.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, any donations in her name can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the ASPCA.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 pm Friday, February 11, 2022 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Bob Quinnett officiating.
